13 November 2015 Great Hall of St. Petersburg State Philharmonics |
Annual opera galas with the leading opera singers of Russia and Slovakia have already become a tradition for our countries. This time the Slovakian singers came to Russia, baritone Dalibor Jenis and Adriana Kucerova together with Russian tenor Eugeny Akhmedov and brilliant soprano Veronika Dzhioeva pleased opera lovers of St. Petersburg with a stunning performance.
Dalibor Jenis, who is famous for his Cavatina of Figaro interpretation, had toured many international opera venues before he finally came to St. Petersburg, where he performed the famous fragments from Barbiere di Siviglia, areas of Toreador from Carmen and Renato from Un ballo in Maschera. Adriana Kucerova, an incredibly beautiful opera soloist of Slovak National Theatre, rose to prominence after performing the role of Mercedes in Carmen under the direction of Daniel Barenboim. The programme of the gala was prepared by young and talented maestro Marius Stravinsky.
This unforgettable classical evening encouraged further enrichment of common cultural space that exists between our countries and revealed new opportunities for Russian-Slovakian Collaboration.
