Second half of February in Poland witnessed a series of epic musical evenings devoted to the 70th Anniversary of the Victory in the Second World War. The project was supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and was aimed at the strengthening of friendly ties and spiritual unity between our nations.
A virtuoso piano player, Nikolai Demidenko, gave his only concert on the Misucal Academy of Krakow on February, 20th. The spectators appreciated his very special style that is distinguished by the natural manner of performance and the ability to brilliantly interpret both classical works and contemporary music. Nikolai Demidenko has successfully cooperated with the London Symphony and London Philharmonic Orchestras, the Scottish Symphony Orchestra of BBC and the leading orchestras of France, Germany, Austria, Israel, Denmark.
On that evening the Concert Hall of the Krakow Academy of Music was filled with the amazing sounds of Frederic Chopin masterpieces performed by the maestro. The most famous and beloved waltzes and mazurkas of the great Polish composer were presented to the audience that night.
The Opera Gala Concert with the prominent Russian opera singers was held on February, 22 in the Grand Concert Hall of the Warsaw Philharmonics. Tenor of Mariinsky Theatre Sergey Semishkur, Charming mezzosoprano of Bolshoi and Mariinsky Theatres Ekaterina Sergeeva and a truly star of the Bolshoy Theatre, soprano Veronika Dzhioeva performed arias of G. Verdi, G. Puccini, P. Tchaikovsky. The music of F. Chopin performed by the Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra became a real gift to the Polish audience. Alim Shakhmametyev, the main conductor if the Chamber Orchestra of the Novosibirsk Philharmonics, was at the conductor’s desk for the whole evening. The concert was held with the famous Orchestra of the Warsaw Philharmonics.The cultural events between Russia and Poland aimed at the further development of cultural cooperation and exchange between the two countries.
